Dr. Fazeeha Azmi is a Senior Lecturer in Geography at the University of Peradeniya. Currently she is working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geography in the Fiji National University in Fiji (FNU) on her sabbatical.

She received her school education at Zahira Nationa College Mawanella. She obtained her B.A degree in Geography with a first class from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. She received her M.Phil. degree in Social Change (Development Studies) in 1999 and PhD in Geography in 2008 from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway.

Her research interests are development geography, gender, forced migration, post crisis recovery, post war reconstruction, youth and development and children and development. Over the years she has involved in externally funded and individual research projects on gender, forced migration and post war development. Currently she is engaged in a research project on gender and climate change in the pacific.
