The conference will feature four keynote speeches distributed over the course of the conference. The keynote speakers are:

1. Mr. Jayantha Dhanapala (President, Pugwash Conferences for Science and World Affairs and Deputy Chairman, Governing Board of Stockholm International Peace Research Institute)

2. Prof. Savitri Goonesekera (Emeritus Professor of Law, University of Colombo)

3. Prof. Gishan Dissanaike (Adam Smith Professor of Corporate Governance, University of Cambridge)

4. Dr. Pradeep Jeganathan (Senior Consultant Social Anthropologist, Consortium of Humanitarian Agencies)

The conference will close with a panel discussion on "Priorities for Higher Education in 21st Century Sri Lanka: Natural Sciences & Technology vs Social Sciences & Humanities". The panel discussion will feature:

1. Prof. Priyan Dias (Dept of Civil Engineering, University of Moratuwa)
2. Dr. Farzana Haniffa (Dept of Sociology, University of Colombo)
3. Dr. Sanjiva Weerawarana (Founder/CEO, WSO2 Inc.)

60 papers, ranging across a wide variety of disciplines in the social sciences and humanities will be presented. These are distributed over four technical session time slots.
