The course purports to give an understanding of the positive change of the nature, scope and aims of Philosophy brought about by Analytic Philosophy, which is contrasted with the system building tendency in classical Philosophy. Significance of Philosophy as a second-order discipline. Key philosophers dealt with are: Bertrand Russell, G.E. Moore, Wittgenstein, A.J. Ayer, Gilbert Ryle, P.F. Strawson, J.L. Austin.
