Dr. Karunanayake joined the Department of Philosophy and Psychology in 2005 as a Senior Lecturer and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Psychology at the department as well as other Tertiary Educational Institutions in Sri Lanka. He obtained a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Purdue University, USA, a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Illinois State University, USA and a BSc in Psychology from University of Calgary, Canada. Dr. Karunanayake’s research focuses mainly on counseling in Sri Lanka with its many complexities and challenges. The first Sri Lankan with a PhD in Counseling Psychology and a Professionally Qualified Consultant Clinical Psychologist he lives in Dangolla, Kandy, Sri Lanka.  “Difference is life”
