The Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, Faculty of Arts, University of Peradeniya, conducted an Introductory Workshop on Pali Language on 8th November 2024, aimed at fostering foundational knowledge and interest among new students and language enthusiasts.

The workshop introduced the basic grammar, phonetics, and structure of the Pali language, which is central to understanding early Buddhist texts. Through interactive sessions and guided exercises, participants gained a practical orientation to reading and interpreting simple Pali passages.
