Course Aim(s):
The aim of this course is to familiarize students with sociology terminology in English using diverse media, to help students engage in language production related to sociology, and to improve academic English skills in relation to Sociology texts.
Intended Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of the course the students should be able to:

Course Aim(s):
The aim of this course is to encourage students to read appropriate and selected sociology literature in English, to boost the quality of learning through enhanced engagement with academic literature, and to improve presentation and communication skills in English required for various work settings.

SOC 3014: Academic English for Sociology -Advanced
Course Aim(s):
The aim of this course is to improve students’ skills in information search, synthesis and academic writing, to develop advanced skills in English required for sociology practice in fieldwork, formal interviews, and public forums and practitioner work as sociologists, and to build students’ capacity to use diverse media for communicating with diverse audiences for academic and practitioner purposes as sociologists
