These are the Programmes conducted by ARTSED to the date.
12. Department Workshop on Learner-centered Education of Department of Sociology - 6th March 2015
This is the first department level workshops on Student Centered Learning Methods. This workshop is for the academic staff of the Sociology Department. It was held on 6th March 2015 from 8.00 a.m to 1.30 p.m. at the Faculty Seminar Room.
The resource people for the workshop were Dr. Pushpa Vitharana, Dr. S Dorabawila, Dr. Abeyrathnayaka, and Dr. Mallika Pinnawala. The workshop contained a panel discussion on “Related Issues of Learner-centered Education”.
11. Workshop on “Facing Challenges in the Workplace”- 28th January and 9th February 2015
The above workshops conducted for the non-academic staff members of Faculty of Arts, of university of Peradeniya. This was held on 28th January and 9th February 2015 from 8.00a.m to 4.00 p.m at Oak Ray Regency, Kandy and Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya respectively. Resource people were as follows:
- Session on Office Etiquettes - Prof. HMD Herath, Department of Sociology, Faculty of Arts, University of Peradeniya
- Session on Laugh Therapy - Mr. Gayan Karurarathne
- Session on Stress Management - Dr. Gayani Gamage, Department of Philosophy and Psychology, Faculty of Arts, University of Peradeniya
- Session on Time Management - Dr. Jayalath Edirisinghe, Director, CDCE, University of Peradeniya
10. Workshop on Student Centered Learning Methods - 27th January 2015
The workshop was for all the Departmental Curriculum Development Committee members and the Heads of Departments of Faculty of Arts. The venue was the Faculty Seminar Room. The resource people were Dr. Upali Sedara, Sri Lanka International Buddhist Academy and Dr. Pushpa Vitharana, Department of Education, Faculty of Arts.
9. Workshop on CV Writing, Interview Techniques and Employability Skills - 22nd December 2014
The above workshop was held on 22nd December 2014 from 8.30 a.m to 12.30 p.m. at the Faculty Arts Theatre. Final year students (of the academic year 2013/14) who registered for the internship programme participated for the workshop. Nearly 300 students took part in the workshop.
8. Workshop on Innovative Teaching and Learning through Digital Technologies- 24th and 25th November 2014
The workshop on ‘Innovative Teaching and Learning through Digital Technologies’ held on 24th and 25th November 2014 from 8.30a.m to 4.30 p.m. at the Faculty Computer Center. Two academics from each department participated for the workshop. Resource person for the workshop was Dr. Palitha Edirisingha, Lecturer in E-learning, University of Leicester, United Kingdom.
7. Workshop on Introduction of Faculty Internship Programme -14th November 2014
The workshop was for the Heads of the Department and Departmental Internship Coordinators on 14th November 2014 from 8.30 a.m. to 11.00 a.m at the Faculty Seminar Room. The Resource person was Dr. Athula Ekanayake, Department of Management.
6. Workshop on Graduate Attributes/Expected Competencies of the undergraduate Study Programmes - 7th November 2014
Workshop on Graduate Attributes/Expected Competencies of the undergraduate Study Programmes was held on 7th November 2014 from 8.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. at Faculty Seminar Room. The workshop was for the two members appointed from each department of the faculty as the Departmental Curriculum Development Coordinators and the Heads of the Department. Resource people were Prof. Deepthi Bandara and Dr. Heshan Wickremasuriya from Faculty of Agriculture.
5. Appointment of Departmental Curriculum Development Committees
The letter has been sent by the Dean/Arts to the HoDs. Three members from each department have been nominated by the Heads of Department.
4. Workshop on English for Academic Purposes-September 2014.
Completion of English for Academic Purposes Workshop, conducted by The British Council, Colombo.
Group 1: 30th August and from 15th to 20th September 2014
Group 2: 6th September and from 22nd to 27th September 2014
Participants were selected through a notice and the applications they sent. Twenty (20) participants were selected for each group.

Conducted a MOODLE workshop for Computer Application Assistant and Technical Officers on 21st and 22nd August 2014.
