About Me

Dr. Shyamantha Subasignghe is a Lecturer in the Department of Geography at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. He received his Ph.D. degree in Geoenvironmental Sciences with an emphasis on Geographical Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing from the University of Tsukuba, Japan, and the M.Sc. degree in Geo-informatics with an emphasis in GIS-based Land Suitability Analysis from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. And also, he obtained his first degree, B.A. (Hons.) with a First Class in Geography from the same university. His research interests lie in the Land use change sciences, Urban GIS, Remote Sensing Applications, Urban Geography, and Ecosystem Service Valuation. He has published several academic papers in scientific journals such as Asian Geographer, Ecologies, ISPRS international journal of Geo-information, Journal of Geospatial Surveying, and Meteorological Applications.
