The Book titled “2018 October Constitutional Coup” is Dhanushka Silva's third book. The book explores the constitutional coup, that happened on the 26th of October 2018, in Sri Lanka. The book houses 5 chapters which includes: firstly, the events leading to the constitutional coup; secondly, a critical analysis of the socio-political and legal landscape of the crisis caused by the coup and lastly, the Sinhala translations of the two judgments delivered by the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka on the dissolution of the Parliament in December, 2018.
Dhanushka Silva is an alumni of the Department of Law, University of Peradeniya. He is an author and a journalist. He currently works as a legal researcher at the Sri Lanka Press Institute. Silva is passionate about constitutional law, law and society as well as Sinhala literature. Silva believes that his book is important for law students and the general public with an interest in law and politics.
