T. Vinayagathasan is a Professor in Economics and holds PhD in Public Economics and Masters of Public Policy from National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Tokyo, Japan and a M.A. in Economics and B.A. (Hons) in Economics from the University of Peradeniya. Vinayagathasan has more than 15 years of teaching and research experience in Sri Lanka and overseas. His research interests focus on Macroeconomics, Monetary Policy and Monetary Economics, Economic Policy, Public Sector Economics, FDI, Development Economics, Financial Economics, Econometrics, Good governance and Corruption and COVID-19 pandemic. He has published number of papers in reputed Indexed Journals such as Journal of Asian Economics, International Journal of Sustainable Economy, Asian Journal of Comparative Politics, The Studies in Regional Development, Frontiers in Public Health, Journal of Asian and African Studies and Sri Lanka Journal of Social Sciences. He has participated in numerous international conferences and training in USA, Japan, and India. He has sound knowledge in Statistical software such as GAUSS, MATLAB, R, STATA, E-VIEWS and SPSS. He was awarded with MEXT scholarship and GRIPS fellowship. He had worked in International non-governmental organizations such as World Vision and Save the Children.
