Biography

Niroshi Senevirathne read for a B.A. Special Degree in Fine Arts, specializing in music, and graduated with a first class degree from the University of Peradeniya. She completed her Master of Philosophy Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Peradeniya. She is deeply interested in the music and culture of other minority ethnic groups in Sri Lanka and has conducted many researchers related to Ethnomusicology and Western Music. Apart from Sri Lanka she has participated for Workshops and presented her research papers in University of Chulalongkorn, Thailand, University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom and University of Aberdeen, Scotland.
Her considerable research capacity can be gleaned from her work on a variety of subjects. She worked as a translator and a time code script writer at the Filming & Dubbing section, Sri Lanka Rupavahini Cooperation and has been an intern as an Assistant Programme Producer, Music division, Sri Lanka Rupavahini cooperation (SLRC).
