I am a graduate with a First Class Honors Degree specializing in Philosophy in the English Medium from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. I won the Gold Medal for overall merit, coming first among over 1000 students in 19 disciplines at the Faculty of Arts in 2015. My aim is to continue learning and studying, and have already obtained a Master of Arts Degree in Philosophy, though I see this as only the beginning of my academic career. My immediate scholarly objective is to learn and disseminate the similarities and differences between the great “eastern” and “western” philosophical and intellectual traditions. I have acquired relevant professional experience also over the past five years as a university level teacher gaining valuable insights into developing philosophical analyses, critical thinking and substantive academic preparation. During my studies and experience over the last years, I have also balanced my research focus with relevant extra-curricular university activities and societies activities through organizing and actively undertaking student research colloquia, debates, discussions, as well as informal counselling, proving that I have the potential to excel within a professional environment. With my extensive background of work within the university system and social context, I am confident that I am able to contribute uniquely to any given task within and outside these contexts.
