The international research conference jointly organized by the Department of Tamil, University of Peradeniya and Tamil University - Thanjavur was held on October 30, 2023, at PGHIS Seminar Hall based on the theme ‘Tamil Nadu - Sri Lanka: Art - Literary - Cultural Relations’. The event was very successful under the leadership of Head of the Department of Tamil Professor S. Pirashanthan. Dr. E. M. P. C. S. Ekanayaka, Dean of Faculty of Arts, University of Peradeniya, visited as the chief guest of the event and to inaugurate the event. Also, Prof. C. Thiyagarajan, Registrar of Tamil University, Tanjavoor was also present as a special guest.
