Undergraduate Programme

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Special Degree in Psychology offered by the Department of Psychology is well known both locally and globally. In a given academic year, over 1000 undergraduates of the university including both Special Degree and General Degree students follow the courses offered by the Department.

Students graduate with 21st Century learning skills and global trends in psychology education catering the current requirements of the country. Each academic year, around 35 second year students are selected for the Special Degree programme. In addition, many students following the General Degree Programme choose Psychology as one of their main disciplines. Students intending to read for the Special Degree in Psychology, or to follow Psychology as one of the main disciplines of their General Degree, are required to follow Introduction to Psychology (PSY 1003), Psychology of Personality (PSY 1004) and English during the first year. Selection for the Special Degree is based on their performance in these subjects.
