   Prof. Lesley Gunawardena Scholarship for Needy Students

Applications are called for registered internal students of the Faculty of Arts, University of Peradeniya for the above scholarship.

Requirements:

• The Annual Income of the family should be less than Rs. 200,000/= (the income report should be signed by the Grama Niladari and certified by the Divisional Secretary.
• If the mother/father/guardian is suffering from an illness, a medical certificate should be provided. In case of a deceased parent/ guardian the death certificate should be provided.
• The applicant should have passes all courses offered for the particular academic year with at least a "C" grade for each subject taken for two semesters.

The completed application together with connected documents should be submit to the Office of the Dean on or before 30^th April 2026.

   University of Miyazaki Scholarship Program (Japan)

2^nd year and 3^rd year undergraduates of the Faculty of Arts, who are interested in applying for the above program can submit their application form together with additional information to the Office of the Dean on or before 31^st March 2026.

Note: All of the classes of Japanese Languages and Culture (Basic Education) and most classes of Faculty of Education are conducted in Japanese. A very few classes of Faculty of Education are conducted in English.

   Arts Faculty Students Union Election - 2026

1. Nominations will be received by me between 1.00 p.m to 4.00 p.m on 27^th March 2026 from the registered students of the Faculty of Arts, University of Peradeniya for the election of office-bearers to the Arts Faculty Students' Union for the Academic Year 2025/2026.The list of eligible students is displayed on the Arts Faculty web page www.arts.pdn.ac.lk
2. Nomination Papers may be obtained from the office of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts by producing the Students Record Book/Student Identity Card from 10.00 a.m. on 02^nd February 2026 to 12.00 p.m. on 27^th March 2026.
3. The duly completed nomination papers should be handed over to me personally in my office during the period specified in paragraph (1) above.
4. Under any circumstances nomination papers will not be accepted by me after the specified time.
5. The notice received from the Assistant Registrar/Student Services is attached herewith.

   Online Learning Activities on Wednesdays

Please be informed that the government has declared every Wednesday as a public holiday, with effect from 18.03.2026.

Accordingly, as decided by the University Administration, online learning activities will be conducted on Wednesdays, as scheduled in the academic timetable.

Please check whether you are currently registered for the courses you are following in the Second Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year through the Information Management System (IMS).

Please note: If your registered subjects are already visible in the Information Management System (IMS), there is no need to re-register.

If you have not yet registered for your courses or subjects registered are not displayed, please complete the registration process on or before 20.03.2026, as approved by the Dean.

Kindly note that course registration will not be allowed for any reason after the above deadline.
