   Online Subject Registration - 2024/2025 Academic Year - First Semester

Students are hereby informed that the online registration of subjects for the First Semester of the Academic Year 2024/2025 should be completed on or before 07th September 2025. (Period for adding/dropping courses will be from 01st September 2025 to 07th September 2025.)

A registration fee of Rs. 500/= should be paid, and the payment receipt must be kept safely for future reference.

Dates will be provided in due course for confirmation and recording in the approved subject in student Record books.

   Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Degree Programme -2024/25

Instructions for Applicants

  1. Minimum Eligibility Requirement
    • A student shall obtain a minimum GPA of 2.7 for all courses considered for GPA in the first semester of 1000 level for the BEd degree programme, with at least C- grade for all courses considered for GPA.
    • Completion of at least one of the following courses is a prerequisite to be eligible for the B.Ed. Degree Programme.
      • Economics, Political Science, Sinhala, History, English, Geography, Sociology, Buddhist Studies, Tamil, Commerce, Management, Fine Arts
  2. Application Screening
    • All applications will be screened and filtered based on the minimum GPA requirement. Only eligible applicants will be invited to sit for the Written Selection Test.
  3. Written Selection Test
    • The Written Selection Test will be conducted by the Department of Education.
    • The test aims to assess the suitability of candidates for admission to the B.Ed. Degree Programme.
  4. Shortlisting for Interview
    • Based on the marks obtained in the Written Selection Test, candidates with the highest scores will be shortlisted for interviews.
  5. Final Selection
    • The final selection will be based on the combined performance in:
      • The Interview and Written Selection Test
    • Candidates with the highest overall scores will be offered admission to the B.Ed. Degree Programme.
  6. Important Notes
    • Only the following number of students will be admitted to the programme, and no additional students will be enrolled under any circumstances:
      • Sinhala medium - 40
      • Tamil medium - 20
      • English medium - 15
    • Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
    • The decision of the selection committee will be final.
  7. All applicants are required to complete the online application form using the following link:

  • The application must be filled out completely and accurately in block letters.
  • Applicants who do not apply via this Google Form will not be eligible for selection to the B.Ed. Degree Programme.
