B.Ed. Selection for Student New Intake - First Semester (Academic Year 2025/26)

1. Minimum Eligibility Requirements
   • Applicants must obtain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.70 for all GPA-contributing courses completed in the First and Second Semesters of the 1000 level, with a minimum grade of C- in each course.
   • Completion of at least one of the following courses is a prerequisite for eligibility for the B. Ed. Degree Programme:
     • Economics, Political Science, Sinhala History, English, Geography, Sociology, Buddhist Studies, Tamil, Commerce, Management, or Fine Arts.
2. Final Selection
   • Applicants with the highest GPAs will be requested to present their relevant documents for verification.
   • Only the following number of students will be admitted to the programme, and no additional students will be enrolled under any circumstances:
     • Sinhala Medium - 40 students
     • Tamil Medium - 20 students
     • English Medium - 15 students
   • If the required number of candidates does not appear for document verification, or if any candidates fail to meet the eligibility requirements specified above, applicants with the next-highest GPAs will be considered for selection.
3. Online Application
   • All applicants are required to complete and submit the online application form using the link or QR code provided below:

   • The application form must be completed fully and accurately using BLOCK CAPITAL LETTERS.
   • Applicants who do not submit their applications through the Google Form will not be considered for selection to the B.Ed. Degree Programme.
   • Application Deadline: 17.08.2026
   • Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

   Provision for Re - Scrutinizing of Marks & Grades of Undergraduates of Second Semester (1000 Level) Examinations - 2024/2025 Academic Year

Application forms for the verification of results are now available on the Web Site & the Office of the Dean Arts.

A payment of Rs. 500/= per subject is charged for verification of Marks & Grades.

Duly filled application form and payment receipts should be handed over/ posted to the Deputy Registrar of the Faculty of Arts on or before 20^thJuly 2026.

As per UGC Circular 978, the Results Verification Board should proceed to check the accuracy of addition, computation, and transcriotion of results (ACT Verification).

   Online Subject Registration - First Semester of 2025/2026 Academic Year

Students are hereby informed that the online registration of subjects for the First Semester of the Academic Year 2025/2026 should be completed on or before 10^th August 2026 to 31^st August 2026. (The period for adding/dropping courses will be from 24^th August 2026 to 31^th August 2026).

A registration fee of Rs. 500/= should be paid, and the payment receipt must be kept safely for future reference.

Dates will be provided in due course for confirmation and recording in the approved subject in student Record books.
